Dear Scouting Family,
We are reaching out today to share some news. As you may already be aware, the national organization of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) exited bankruptcy today.
The BSA’s financial restructuring process comes to an end with the overwhelming support of more than 85% of abuse survivors involved in the case and is set to establish a compensation fund for survivors currently valued at $2.4 billion, with the opportunity for additional contributions by numerous other parties. We are sincerely grateful for all survivors, whose bravery, patience, and willingness to share their experiences has moved us beyond words.
The Michigan Crossroads Council remains committed to delivering our nation’s foremost program for character development and values-based leadership training throughout the lower Peninsula of Michigan. Our council provides countless experiences for young people in our area each year. We are looking forward to an enriching summer of programming, including day camp, summer camp, high adventure opportunities, Scout Nights with local sporting organizations, and many more.
Thanks to your support, the Michigan Crossroads Council is well positioned to continue serving our communities for generations to come. For more information on the national organization’s exit from bankruptcy, please visit www.BSArestructuring.org.
