One way to empower yourself is to educate yourself, and now that Fall is here and the weather is cooling off, what better way to do that than to pick up an environmental book and learn something new.
Below are three suggestions for some informative Fall Reading:
Living with a Green Heart: How to Keep Your Body, Your Home, and the Planet Healthy in a Toxic World by Gay Browne. Gay Browne is a personal environmental health adviser who wrote this book to be used as a roadmap to make changes to protect your health and heal the planet. We particularly recommend this book because it realizes the connection between personal health and the planet’s health, something we often discuss here at 7th Generation Advisors.
No One is Too Small to Make a Difference by Greta Thunberg. Greta Thunberg is a climate activist that changed the world by taking personal action. She is living proof that taking personal action against climate change can make a difference. This book is a collection of her speeches that serve as a rally call to inspire others to take action.
The Book of Hope: A Survival Guide for Trying Times by Jane Goodall and Douglas Abrams. Jane Goodall is one of the most famous naturalists ever to live. Through the years of witnessing the changing environment, she continues to have hope for humanity. Together with Douglas Abrams, the author of The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World, the two of them discuss their experiences and why they continue to have hope. Hope can help us all curb our climate anxiety and release our personal action potential.
Another motivating topic to inspire personal action is environmental justice. Check out New York Magazine’s list of The Best Books of Environmental Justice to learn more about this important topic.
Happy reading!
