Canadians across the country are working from home and the risk of cyberattack is greater than ever. One of the most common threats? Social engineering scams. A recent survey of U.S. business executives by Zogby Analytics for Hartford Steam Boiler (HSB) indicated that 37% of organizations received an email from someone impersonating a senior manager or vendor requesting payments. Almost half of employees receiving those emails (47 percent) responded by transferring company funds, resulting in losses in the $50,000 to $100,000 range (37 percent) and rarely less than $10,000 (11 percent). With the spike in cybercrime exploiting the COVID-19 crisis, comprehensive data security and privacy breach insurance is a must. Contact PROLINK today.
