Doubt, fear, and indecision crept in. “I am human,” I told myself.
But I felt the pull of sadness. I was not sure of my direction. I needed a change in my state of mind.
So I watched my favorite inspirational video.
Picture your struggle while watching this video. It doesn’t have to be weight loss and health as Arthur’s was. Just picture how you will handle the struggle that’s in front of you.
You can watch it now, don’t worry I will be here when you get back.
The song in that video is what gets me every time.
Because Fix You by Coldplay is my coaching theme song. It inspires me, especially, when I feel down about myself as a coach.
Yup imposter syndrome hits every one of us in some shape, form, or fashion.
The song is not about ME trying to fix my clients. Nope, not at all! Because the fact is we don’t need fixing.
What needs to happen is a mindset shift. Leave those limiting beliefs behind and start thinking a better way. Enter a new state of mind. đź’ˇ
For once you have the new state of mind aka mindset shift - you are fixed. Just like Arthur was.
He had limiting beliefs along the way,
- “I wanted to give up, wouldn’t you?”
- “No one could help me.”
- “For 15 years doctors told me I would never walk unassisted again.”
- “I accepted this as fact.”
And then the shift begins,
- “Just because I can’t do it today does not mean I cannot do it someday.”
- “They were wrong, it was possible.”
- “Never underestimate what can happen when you believe in yourself.”
Notice how the lyrics and mood in the song change when the lyrics say,
🎵“Tears stream down your face, When you lose something you cannot replace, Tears stream down your face, and I promise you I will learn from my mistakes”
Your mistake (and mine) is the fact that we lost faith in ourselves with those dang limiting beliefs.
This is the way I see that song.
And I had to listen to it to return to my true state of mind and stop letting limiting beliefs of fear, doubt, and indecision hold me back.
Today’s episode is all about music and how your state of mind is affected by music.
While listening, reading, or watching today be sure to think of music that inspires you.
I highly encourage you to create a playlist of that music and listen to it often. It will inspire you to “Never give up!” especially on those days that you feel it is impossible and you want to give up!
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your day. I appreciate it more than you know.
If this story resonates with you make it a point to never give up!
And if you want to really make it loud and clear just hit reply to this email and say "ARTHUR", I'll know what you mean. đź’śđź’śđź’ś
