In this newsletter you will find the most important news from Lithuanian Airports from 2021.
We start by reviewing key aviation statistics and can easily declare that rapid recovery started in the middle of the year.
In 2021, we handled almost 2.5 million passengers, 37% more than in 2020, when it was just over 1.8 million.
Some key facts:
- Vilnius Airport handled 1.9 million passengers (45% more than in 2020)
- Kaunas Airport - almost 490 thousand passengers (32% more than in 2020)
- Palanga Airport - 86 thousand passengers (31% less than in 2020)
All three airports recorded around 80% of the pre-pandemic number of flights (as of December 2019).
In terms of Lithuania's overall connectivity, the number of routes at Lithuanian Airports in 2021 exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
Last year, 94 direct regular routes were on offer, compared to 72 in 2020 and 92 in 2019. The most-popular destination-countries for regular flights include: the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Ukraine and Germany.
