Did you love the movie “Charlie Wilson’s War,” starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts? The Righteous Arrows, the page-turning sequel to The Able Archers, tells the ‘pointy end of the spear’ story behind “Charlie Wilson’s War.” Kevin Cattani works with the CIA to supply the Afghan rebels fighting the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, while Ivan Levchenko is on the opposing side, overseeing Soviet military intelligence in the conflict.
Mike Vickers, the real-life CIA officer who ran the CIA’s successful war in Afghanistan against the Soviets, has enthusiastically endorsed The Righteous Arrows. Mike is a featured character in “Charlie Wilson’s War,” which many book clubs are watching to prepare for their discussions of The Righteous Arrows. Remember that I am happy to join your book club meetings to discuss The Righteous Arrows in person when possible or virtually. Just drop me a line at brian@brianjmorra.com.
The Righteous Arrows is getting outstanding reviews from national and regional publications. I just learned that the Midwest Book Review will feature a review of The Righteous Arrows in an upcoming issue. Here are some excerpts:
"Brian J. Morra excels in creating tension and suspense..."
"... nonstop staccato blend of action and insight... keeps the characters realistic, their political convictions absorbing, and their confrontations unpredictable..."
"[The Righteous Arrows] marries history, mystery, and psychological revelations in a convincing manner to keep readers thoroughly engrossed."
