Dear Scouters of the Massabesic District,
As we step into November, we’re reminded of how essential it is to lend a hand to those around us. One of the most important ways we can do this is through our "Scouting for Food" drive. As Scouts, we are called to be helpful, and this is our chance to live out that value in a powerful way. Scouting for Food is an opportunity to make a direct impact, fulfill a "Good Turn," and bring hope and support to families in need across our community. Let's rally together to make this effort as successful as possible and show what Scouting can achieve.
Additionally, I want to encourage all of our leaders to complete their position-specific training. Each Scout deserves the guidance and knowledge of a well-trained leader, and by ensuring we’re fully prepared, we can better serve our Scouts and uphold the mission of Scouting. Trained leaders make stronger units, and together, we create memorable, impactful experiences for every Scout in our district.
Many of you recently participated in the Spooktacular at Camp Carpenter, an event that welcomed over 700 participants and brought our community closer through the magic of Scouting. It was a pleasure to help provide such an engaging program, and we couldn’t have done it without your commitment and enthusiasm.
Thank you for all you do to support our local Scouting program. Your dedication is what keeps our district thriving and growing, and together, we are making a difference.
Yours in Scouting, Will Melendy Chairman, Massabesic District
