Quick message this week - too much time on the road I fear. And, no, no meteor joy here in Confluence. It was nice to sit out for a little while and give it a try (and Bill did see a good one just before I joined him on the back deck - of course)!

I really enjoyed your observations on the two Conservation Heroes from PAConservationHeritage that you enjoyed reading and about whom you would like to discover more. I surely agreed with Angela when she wrote:

1. Esther Gatewood Allen b/c I thought seeing her name she had to be related to the infamous Grandma Gatewood! Esther is her daughter! How neat to help carry on her mother’s legacy.

2 The Craighead brothers I recognized immediately as their sister is the renowned children’s’ author Jean Craighead George. Their summer home is in my hometown Boiling Springs! I’ve read her books, My Side of the Mountain, Trumpet of the Swan etc. All the siblings were very much into the preservation of nature and wildlife!
