Happy Mid-Summer!
It’s been a great summer…so far! In June we had our first beach vacation in five years and went to Ocean Isle beach. I loved it – and immediately plugged into an audiobook and went walking every day. I thought I would come back with a tan, but I wear so much sunscreen (since I cannot reverse sun damage) that, even with all the hours I spent in the sun, the tan was minimal. I guess that means it worked!
We took our dogs to the beach with us! My husband and I, along with my daughter’s family of four and all four of our dogs (my two dogs and my daughter’s two) rented a huge condo. We had space, plenty of AC, lots of seafood, and loved it. Not to mention…having the dogs with us was a special treat. None of our dogs had ever been to the beach, although I’ve always wanted to take them. Riggs, our Britany Spaniel, (who, bless him, has almost gone blind because of diabetes and now, has glaucoma in his only remaining eye) played in the surf for the first time in his life. He loved it! We had trouble getting him to come out of the water. Shep ( my white cockapoo) enjoyed the water and the sand. He had a perpetual smile going. Cooper (apricot cockapoo) didn’t have an opinion one way or the other but was not unhappy. And Gracie (Parsons Russell Terrier) seemed a little troubled by the waves that kept charging at her.
