For Immediate Release
Scouting for Food
East Hartford, CT, Scouts all across the state this month are conducting food drives in their local communities. It is part of the biggest community service project Scouts do annually.
Thousands of community service hours are being conducted and thousands of food items are being collected by hundreds of Scouts. Scouts and the volunteer leaders are working hard to provide a vital service to a needy population. For instance the Scouting groups in Gales Ferry collected 5,400 food items for the Ledyard Food Pantry. In Willington 14 Scouts collected 6,700 for the Willington Human Service Department. More drives are occurring at the end of this month. For more information on the past drives or for future ones contact sean.fogle@scouting.org.
The Connecticut Rivers Council proudly serves over 13,000 boys and girls throughout Connecticut with the time-tested leadership training program of Scouting.
