I tend to read at at least two books a week across a range of genres, so this month I thought I'd share some of what I've been reading recently.
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree : This is cosy fantasy and very entertaining, whether or not you are normally into fantasy. It got 5 stars from me and I can't wait for the second book in the series. Only downside - it's on the pricy side.
Viv the orc barbarian plans to open the first coffee shop in the city of Thune. Even though no one there knows what coffee actually is. But the true reward is the people she meets. Whether bound by ancient magic, delicious pastries or a freshly brewed cup, they may become something deeper than Viv ever could have imagined.
The People on Platform 5 by Clare Pooley : Feel good contemporary fiction and not nearly as pricy! I love the fact that no-one is quite what they seem and bit by bit you discover more about each character.
No one speaks to strangers on the train. What would happen if they did? With nothing in common but their commute, an eclectic group of people learn that their assumptions about each other don't match reality. But when Iives begin to fall apart, will they be there for each other?
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce : You've probably heard about the film. I've not seen that, but the book is excellent (and cheaper than a cinema ticket!). The next two books in the series are on my holiday reading wish list.
Harold is an ordinary man who has passed through life, living on the side lines, until he goes to post a letter one day...and just keeps walking.
The Last Party at Silverton Hall by Rachel Burton : If you have Prime, then this is current available through Prime Reading. If not, it's still not too pricy. It's a dual timeline story with a mystery to solve. If you know Norfolk, England at all, Silverton is based on Old Hunstanton - which is somewhere I've visited, so that appealed to me!

Within a few years, their whirlwind romance sees them living a quiet life on the Norfolk coast, blissfully happy with their beautiful daughter.
