New jobs to support sustainable agriculture

This week, Minister for Agriculture and Regional Development, Jaclyn Symes, announced that funding from the Victorian Government’s $50 million Agriculture Workforce Plan will go towards projects that benefit Victorian farmers and the wider agricultural industry, creating over 80 jobs.

Two of the projects will be rolled out in the rural areas surrounding Melbourne and be delivered by the PPWCMA. One will assist farms with sustainable agriculture services (such as weed control, planting native vegetation and bushfire recovery work) and the other will be an education program that connects school children with their local farms.

In this together. Reconciliation Week. Thank you to our traditional owners for supporting us. We are proud to support you.

This National Reconciliation Week we may not have been able to mark the event in person, but our staff showed their respect to Country, Aboriginal Australians and the Indigenous organisations they work with by taking the time to head outside and acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land that they live and work on.

‘In This Together’ is the theme of National Reconciliation Week 2020. We would like to thank our Traditional Owners for working with us and supporting us. We are proud to partner with you in reconciliation and natural resource management.
