With winter extending its icy fingers across the heartland these last few weeks, the Purdue Crew team had continued training hard indoors, undaunted, just as it has since mid-November, through intense erg sessions, steady state on our spin bikes, brutal core workouts, and of course lots of high repetitions on the free weights.
There have been challenging 2k tests along the way, online ergometer competitions against teams from WSU, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Bucknell, and two junior men (Matt Skubus and Hames Muerrer) have been hard at work training for the Olympic lightweight double sculls trials and even spent a week doing two-a-days over winter break on the water in Tennessee.
In short, on top of classes and all of the stresses of being a college student, the Purdue Crew members have been putting in the work.
