Welcome to my Behind the Brush Creative Connection newsletter! I'm so happy our paths have crossed and you are joining me on my creative journey! As social media gets louder and louder and more chaotic, this will be a space where we can connect without distractions.

I'm so excited to touch base with you the first of each month (this first edition is a bit late :) to give you a "behind the brush" view of my creative life. What I learned from creating an "Index Card A Day"

Are you still wondering what in the world ICAD means? It stands for Index Card A Day, and it's an annual 61-day challenge that takes place during the months of June and July and is hosted by Daisy Yellow Art. Here's the top 2 things I am reminded of each time I participate in this challenge.

1. You don't need a lot of supplies, time or space to create daily.

2. A daily art habit, not matter how small or insignificant, fuels creativity and inspiration.

For this challenge, I wanted to make it easy as possible to create daily, so I decided to use my "scraps" of painted papers and pieces of discarded art to create each card. I kept my bowl of papers, scissors, posca pens and a glue stick handy so I could create daily. These little collages don't just make me smile, but they can be used for actual cards to send and spread happiness, as journal tip ins, or just to keep for inspiration for future projects. For me, was all about enjoying the process, community and having a daily creative habit.
