Connecting People to Christ for Life

On the way to Jerusalem [Jesus] was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” – Luke 17:11-13

I was glad to see so many of you able to join us this past Sunday for our combined outdoor worship service, then stay for the cookout afterwards.  As Pastor Richard proclaimed in the sermon, we are blessed to be people for whom Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem – to rejection, suffering, death, and resurrection – because that is how we come to have the healing and reconciliation with God that we need.  As our world still contends with pandemic, we can give thanks to God for His steadfast love which will see us through.

If you’ve been away from onsite worship, I encourage you to consider coming back for one of our regular weekend services.  Not only would you get to receive the life-giving medicine of Jesus’ body and blood on Holy Communion, you’ll be able to reconnect with your family in faith here at Immanuel.  (Should you have concerns about being mask-optional, we do have mask-required reserved seating in the Sanctuary, too.)

The Lord bless you in the week ahead and draw you to Himself!

In Christ,
Pastor Campbell

In-House Photo Directory

Due to pandemic-related issues, the company that we’d used to create our recent photo directory has been unable to deliver it.  So we’re going to make one in-house!  You’ll be able to upload household and individual photos to CCB, our congregation’s member engagement software, or come have your photo taken at one of the upcoming photo shoots during weekend services on July 17, 18, 24, and 25. We will also be taking pictures before and after the Wed., July 21 service.

Another option is to drop off a recent family photo at the connection center in a envelope labeled with your contact information.

Baby Bottle Boomerang Thank you!

A note from Amanda Geaschel, Director of Marketing/Finance of Rockford Pregnancy Care Center:  Immanuel raised $6,676.29 through the Baby Bottle Boomerang. That is incredible! Thank you for participating! Every penny truly makes a difference. As of right now, our running total for all of BBB this year is $42,367.49. To say I am blown away is an understatement. Thank you for getting involved and helping make this the BEST BBB ever!

Christ-Esteem Bracelet

In a world where many voices compete to define a girl's worth, here's an opportunity for girls (ages 9+) and a female role model (mom/grandma/aunt/friend/etc.) to remember what's really important.

In addition to making take-home bracelets together, we'll discuss how girls can find their self worth, not by focusing inward or comparing themselves to others, but by grounding their identity in Christ.

Join us Saturday, July 17th from 9-10:30am in the Fellowship Hall (Door 4). Click on the button below to register.
