New Level of Diaspora Engagement |
The topic of wider global talent engagement finds its way into the agenda of the new Lithuanian government.
During the meeting with the GLL team last week, prime minister Ingrida Šimonytė called for talents within the diaspora to join them and lead vital public reforms in #digitalization, #education, #innovation, and #publicgovernance. Drop us an e-mail at reserve@lithuanianleaders.org if you are willing to discuss the opportunity.
Ms. Simonyte assured she drew no lines between Lithuanians abroad and within the country and expressed the hope for dual citizenship to finally eradicate those barriers, just like online work did.
Thanks to the efforts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, GLL will also represent diaspora professionals in the Council for Economic Diplomacy of Lithuania. It is a great step forward in formalizing the diaspora’s role in economical diplomacy.
Some of the GLL recommended global experts in innovation and digitalization were invited to join the INNODIG advisory board at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation.
We are now hoping to work closely with the team of minister Ausrine Armonaite to scale successful GLL programs like Business Advisors, Investment Ambassadors, and alike, and bring the sound idea of Global Lithuanian into tangible economical measures.
