Issue 64- June 12, 2020

Hello Friends-

"Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and musings.

This past week has been a bit of a reclusive one for me. I took a big social media/news detox...and, I also officially started a new year of this thing called, life. In lieu of "formalized celebrating," I did a lot of reflecting, talked to a few friends, did my digital thank-yous on the social channels, dabbled in some art here and there, and attended a few workshops. Additionally, I also got to virtually celebrate some of my other favorite fellow Gemini folk, like my Dad (whose birthday is the day right before mine).

I want to send a great big virtual hug and thank you to everyone who sent me verbal and/or physical birthday wishes over the weekend. It really touched my heart to be thought of. I also want to thank those of you who reached out and shared kind words from last week's newsletter- that truly meant a lot 💞.

***Also, I want to send a very special "Happy Birthday" shoutout to my favorite cousin, Donna, on her birthday today! Love you!!! 🎂💗😍

Random stories, pictures, video highlights, and other life musings can be found on my personal instagram page (@e101) and official brand page (@thecre8tiveartisan) throughout the week (when/if I end up posting anything).

*And, if you have missed any previous newsletters, feel free to check out the archive section on my website: HERE.

Continued prayers that you and your loved ones

stay safe and healthy out there 💗.

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Recherché (adj): rare, exotic, or obscure

  • ADVICE: “Be the reason someone feels welcomed, seen, heard, valued, loved and supported."

  • MOOD MUSIC: This week's mood music is a "new discovery" (for me) that was shared via a friend (thanks, Sarah N!). "Weightless," by British ambient band, Marconi Union, is supposed to be the world's most relaxing song. It was curated with sound therapists with the goal of lowering a listener’s blood pressure, stress levels and heart rate. It was also designed with the intent to induce a 65% reduction in anxiety, and a 35% reduction in usual physiological resting rates. I definitely found it to be super calming! (*Wellness Tip: There are also extended versions available if you find that you need to hear a little more).

  • QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATION: In the light of what is happening right now, Warner Bros. is allowing people to see the film, "Just Mercy" for free this month. I urge everyone to take a moment and watch it (if you haven't already)

  • COOKERY MAGIC: I stumbled upon these 30 June Recipes To Try, and thought I'd share them. Let me know if you fall in love with one of them!!

  • LIFESTYLE TIP: I am going to continue the share from last week on providing "helpful tools" of education and knowledge within the movement of anti-racism (as, I have gotten quite a few requests on this). This collection of Books, Films, and Podcasts from NPR should provide for some additional insight and conversation for those looking for points of engagement.

  • FEEL GOOD SHARE: I am always a sucker for a good "people helping people" story. And, I just love this piece on Rob Kenney, and how he went about finding a way to serve others through his, "Dad, How Do I?" YouTube channel where he provides helpful everyday tips to those who may not have father figures in their lives.

Sending love and hugs to all of you!

*"The Cre8tive Life" is the weekly "feel good" component of my consultancy, The Cre8tive Artisan, which is where I "make the magic happen" and curate engaging lifestyle events that help connect us humans in deeper ways. Feel free to CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE to see what I do, and let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help you out! As always, if this newsletter is "not your thing", please feel free to unsubscribe (however, I really hope you don't).
