As we navigate this time of life together I want to keep you up to speed with what is happening with our church in these unprecedented days.

What I'm Thinking About

The new normal.

This concept refers to the moment when something totally unfamiliar and unexpected becomes commonplace. There have been so many unexpected things that have now become our new normal. It’s disorienting!

It takes a lot of mental energy to discover a new normal.

When I pray for you, I’m praying that God will give your mind rest. And that he will draw your heart back to the things that never change.

This is why it is important for us to stay connected to one another! I miss seeing you, but we are still the family of God and we are still connected.

What You Need to Know

We are working hard to make sure we can still have some connection.

I’m sure you’ve read about the Governor’s stay at home order. We’ve received communication from people in the Governor’s office that churches are still allowed to record content in our sanctuary, as long as we practice “social distancing” while doing so. This is covered under the “minimum basic operations” provision.

So, while we might make a few adjustments, we are still planning to see you online over these next two weeks.

We hope it will be encouraging and a welcome break from the monotony of this season!

Here is the plan:

  • Worship services stream live Sunday at 9 AM.
  • KidsMin services for preschool and elementary are on Tuesday at 6 PM.
  • PRiSM services for students are on Wednesday at 6 PM.
  • Our Whole Care Community Check-In streams live on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5 PM.

We are so thankful to those of you who give to our church. You are enabling so much ministry to our community. Thank you!! If you are used to giving to Pulpit Rock in person, you still can give, but you’ll have to do it online for now. It is safe and secure and easy to use - https://pulpitrock.com/give

Another way to give is to use our Text 2 Give option – text PULPITROCK to 44321.

One Last Thing...

I was recently reading about the oldest section of scripture we have found. It is on something called the Hinnom Scrolls and it dates back to the 7th century B.C. They contain the priestly blessing that God commanded Aaron and his sons to speak over the people of God in Numbers 6:24-26.

24“The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

These words have been with God’s people for so long. And they are with us still today.

As we are trying to find our new normal, it is comforting to me that even at the beginning people like us needed to hear that God is with us. That he is gracious and will bring us peace. And that gives me hope that this new normal will not be all that different from the old normal.

I’m praying for you that you will rest in the truth that God’s face is turned towards you.

I love you people!
