Hey there ,
The '70s had lots of weird stuff:
Custom vans, CB radios, shag carpeting. Sometimes all in one.

An innocent era unlike today which had no conflicts or radical factions whatsoever.

Right? Uh maybe not. Two words:

Patty Hearst.

For those of you over 40 Patty Hearst was remembered as the heiress to the Hearst Newspaper Syndicate who was kidnapped by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), a rag-tag underground organization who committed acts of murder and terror in California in the early 1970s in an effort to tear down the 'straight' fabric of society while promoting a radical agenda which was all about striking a blow for any minority or disenfranchised people.

... so, a real fun crowd to run around with. The 1970s was a mirror reflection of our Trump-voter Red-capped era today. Back then the hippy, multi-racial, feminist, radical left was the fringe, the edge and almost always seemingly wild and full of revolutionary volatile language who had a minority voice. The Establishment was the straight, conservative, white male bastion of majority rule and conservative politics.

2020 is 1970 upside down.

During her kidnapping Ms. Hearst was transformed into a new persona, having undergone what some call the 'Stockholm Syndrome,' where the kidnapp-ee feels sympathy and attachment to the motives and causes of the kidnappers. Patty became 'Tania' for a while and participated in a bank hold-up.

Tania (Patty) was captured on September 18 1975 and went to prison. Then she was in an Ed Wood movie (don't wear white after Labor Day!)
