1. What's in store at CASCAIDr?

2. CrowdJustice appeal for CHC

The scandalous postcode lottery of access to NHS Continuing Healthcare, also known as CHC, has left thousands of very ill, often elderly people without some £5 billion-worth of care funding to which they are legally entitled.

The redoubtable Philip Mathias, retired Rear Admiral and former Ministry of Defence official, is determined to hold the DHSC and NHS to account for their failings in this regard. He has just launched a CrowdJustice appeal to fund a judicial review.

3. EHRC Guidance for retailers

I have been banging on here about access and inclusivity for what feels like forever. Retail operations in particular seem to present obstacles to customers with a disability who want to shop.

Finally - some guidance from the EHRC (Equality And Human Rights Commission) reminding retailers of their legal obligations, particularly in light of current conditions.

4. Shine on Hydrocephalus

Hydrocephalus is a build-up of fluid in the brain, which increases pressure there, often causing damage to the brain tissue. Some one in 1000 children are affected by the condition (which can also affect adults).

Nowadays, there is much greater understanding of hydrocephalus, its causes, effects and treatments. The charity Shine, which supports families of children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, has just produced a useful free resource for parents and professionals.

5. OT Posts at Designability

Designability is a charity which has been creating and providing products that give disabled people greater independence and choice for over 50 years. You may have come across their brilliant Wizzybug, the fun powerchair designed for under-fives - and there are many more innovations to their credit.

They are now looking to recruit two OTs, one of whom will be their lead OT, as the current incumbent steps down after 20 years.

6. Latest - My Disabled World

Disability Talk is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2011 to champion the rights of disabled and vulnerable people.

It is currently running a poetry competition, "My Disabled World" with cash prizes for the winners and a charity of their choice. There's still time to enter, if you are feeling poetic!

The judging panel is diverse and impressive, including Dame Evelyn Glennie, Martyn Sibley, Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities Marsha de Cordova, and Minister for Disabled People, Justin Tomlinson.
