Dear Marina Gutgarts ,
In July, the EaP CSF Steering Committee released three statements, notably on the suspension of Belarus’ participation in the Eastern Partnership, on the unprecedented attack on civil society in Belarus and on the state-sponsored purge of civil society in Belarus. The Steering Committee condemns the Belarusian government’s decision to suspend its participation in both the Eastern Partnership and the Readmission agreement.
Furthermore, the Steering Committee of the EaP CSF wishes to convey a sense of urgency when dealing with human rights issues in Belarus, as Lukashenka’s regime continues to move further astray and repression is escalating. Likewise, the Steering Committee of the EaP CSF decries the liquidations of over 100 Civil Society Organisations in Belarus, which can only be interpreted as the liquidation of civil society as a whole.
Moreover, the EaP CSF Secretariat opened the Call for Project Proposals under the EaP CSF Re-granting to Members (FSTP) programme Lot 1 and Lot 2 for 2021-2023. Last but not least, the office of the EaP CSF Secretariat will be closed for one week between 16-20 August.
We wish you a pleasant read and enjoy your summer break.
Yours,
EaP CSF Secretariat
