In 1984, ARS was founded as the Arizona Recital Choir by Dennis Bonner while he was a doctoral student in Choral Conducting at the University of Arizona. The name was changed to the Arizona Repertory Singers (ARS) in 1986.
ARS has been hailed by audiences throughout Southern Arizona for its choral blend, technical precision and vocal artistry. A hallmark of the ARS tradition is the commitment to presenting high quality performances of the best new choral music as well as standard repertoire – from the Renaissance to well-known choral masterpieces, Americana and jazz, contemporary pieces and works commissioned by the group.
They share the belief that there is nothing more transformative than the human voice lifted in song.
The JRC team has worked with ARS for 10 years, promoting over 20 concerts through public relations, advertising, and website services. For this year's Women in Winter concerts, the JRC team created a series of graphics and text highlighting 6 of the women composers for social media and Constant Contact.
In 2020, JRC redesigned the ARS website with greater functionality and a fresh look. That same year, ARS pivoted to virtual concerts and the newly designed site connected visitors digitally. Did you know that one of ARS's virtual songs, Ndikhokhele Bawo has over 20,000 views on YouTube?
