September 24: Bournemouth Orchid Society's annual show is from midday-4.30pm at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne, Dorset. There's a repotting service, orchid sellers including Burnham Orchids and a learning zone with hands-on activities for parents and children. Entrance £4, book online here.
October 1-31: Did you know Mexico is home to 12% of the world's biodiversity? Kew Gardens' Temperate House in London is hosting a celebration of all things Mexican in October. Highlights include a horticultural installation titled Surreal Pillars of Mexico, designed by Jon Wheatley and featuring Kew’s collection of Mexican plants. Buy tickets here.
October 1 and 2: Green Rooms Market hosts an event at FarGro Village Coventry from 10am-4pm with a cornucopia of sellers offering plants, accessories and more. Entry is free, there are some pre-bookable workshops to check out too. Details here.
October 1 and 2: The Bonsai Show Live is at the International Centre, Telford in Shropshire from 9am-5pm. Tickets from £15.
October 8: Houseplants are rightly taking centre stage at the Cheltenham Literary Festival in Gloucestershire - this event brings together Sarah Gerrard-Jones aka The Plant Rescuer who recently published a book of the same name and Michael Perry aka Mr Plant Geek, whose new book Hortus Curious is out October 4. 2-3pm, tickets from £20.
