See Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere and lots of other brilliant new films at Bath Film Festival
The Bath Film Festival returns this weekend for its 35th edition – ten days packed with over 50 films, events and immersive experiences across the city of Bath. From historic venues to unexpected spaces, we’re once again bringing world-class cinema to the heart of the city.
Deliver Me from Nowhere chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 Nebraska album. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.

Weekend Wines
Wines from the Rhône
France boasts regions that make delicious wines that don’t cost the earth, and the Rhône Valley is a prime example. The producers who craft the most sought-after labels also make much more wallet-friendly wines.
These may come from the other side of the vineyard path, or the not-so-precipitous slope, but they are still brilliant wines, and you’ll often pay less than £20 for them.
Côtes du Rhône 'Cuvée Laurent B' Organic | £12.95

The Yacht-Master’s bidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel is made entirely from precious metals or fitted with a Cerachrom insert in high-tech ceramic. The raised polished numerals and graduations stand out clearly against a matt, sand-blasted background.
This functional bezel – which allows the wearer to calculate, for example, the sailing time between two buoys – is also a key component in the model’s distinctive visual identity.
The intense black dial features broad hands and hour markers in simple shapes filled with luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow, offering exceptional legibility in the dark.

NOĒMA
Published by the California-based think-tank the Berggruen Institute, NOĒMA aims to explore and develop foundational ideas about how to reshape political and social institutions in the face of planetary-scale transformation taking place in the 21st century. The latest issue is titled ‘Paradigm Shifts’ and examines the shift we are experiencing from global connectivity to a renewed nationalistic, closed state of mind around the world. Paradigm shifts – defined by the magazine as a time ‘when a concept that organises our reality is replaced by an entirely different and incommensurate worldview’ come and go but on reading this you have to ask yourself, ‘Is this the big one?’

Fresh fruit and veg stall now available on site at RUH
The Royal United Hospitals (RUH) Bath NHS Foundation Trust has teamed up with local groce Dean Cooper, from Wild About Fruit and Veg, to provide a fresh produce stall at the hospital’s Weston site.
Located outside the Brownsword Therapies Centre, Dean and his team have an amazing range of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale, from the familiar carrots, potatoes and strawberries through to more unusual items such as dragon fruit.
The stall is on site every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 10am to 3pm, and is already proving popular with staff and visitors.
Barry Fennell, Senior Catering Lead at the RUH, said: “Staff told us they would love to be able to pick up a few essentials during their busy day. As a hospital we are all about supporting healthy choices, so I’m delighted we’ve been able to work with Dean to bring fruit and veg right to our doorstep.
“The stall is open to all, you don’t have to work here or be a patient at the RUH, anyone from the local community is welcome to pop by for some lovely fresh produce. I know Dean and his team have lots of ideas in the pipeline, starting with fruit baskets which would make great gifts for patients.”
The fruit and vegetable stall is the latest addition to the RUH to provide patients, visitors and staff with more food and drink choices when they are at the hospital.
The well-established Friends of the RUH Café, Lansdown Restaurant and Oasis Café continue to provide hot and cold meals, drinks and snacks to eat in or take away.
