I have always loved words. I love them so much that the first speech I ever gave was about why literature is the key to life...from my perspective as a 12-year old.
While this is a work of fiction, there are elements that I've taken from a trip my family and I took to the East Coast a few years ago. I talk about this trip a lot - it holds a very special place in my heart so choosing it as a setting was a no-brainer.
Practicing writing for fun is something I haven't really done - it's always a benefit-driven blog post or essay for school. I wanted to write something just to write. Enjoy!
As always, the EMM grind continues. Some exciting updates to share this month:
Demo Day: As a final showcase for The Knowledge Society, I had the opportunity to pitch EMM to potential new advisors and investors. I met some really fantastic people - shoutouts to Dean, Valeska, Dan, Sahar, and Shanglong for the amazing advice and conversations :) Watch the 4-minute pitch here.
Board Meeting: We're working towards some really exciting updates on our model and training side in preparation for our Advisory Board Meeting this June!
I wanted to recommend some more action/habit-based items this month. In an effort to spend less time on my screen and only as much as I need, I've implemented four things to do each day:
Daily Reading Outside
Even if it's just one chapter.
Take a pause mid-day. No music.
Tending to something daily can remind you to take a pause.
Eat meals without distraction. No Netflix. No music.
