Call for Papers Chautari Annual Conference 2019 The aim of the conference is to promote research culture in the humanities and social sciences in Nepal. MC invites submission of abstracts of research papers or abstracts of the theme-based panels from eligible researchers or institutions who will have completed their research by the abstract submission deadline. Special theme of the conference is ‘Education in Nepal,’ but abstracts and panels are welcome on other themes as well. The deadline for abstract submission is 30 November 2018. Read more
Call for Articles Samaj Adhyayan Martin Chautari announces call for articles for vol. 14 of its annual peer-reviewed Samaj Adhyayan journal. Topical coverage is broad covering virtually all aspects of social sciences, anthropology, history and political sciences. Each issue comprises of scholarly contributions, but are not limited to, original research-based articles, commentaries, academic reviews of books, interviews, bibliographies and historical manuscripts. Social Science Baha Newsletter is a periodic electronic publication from Social Science Baha, Kathmandu, featuring information and latest developments on Nepal-related social science activities. It will initially be offered as a bi-monthly service, and the frequency may change depending on demand and available content. The Newsletter is a free service from Social Science Baha in keeping with its mandate to contribute to Nepal’s social science knowledge generation and dissemination.
Social Science Baha Newsletter consists of: i) Announcements: Calls for conference papers, invitations to be part of special issues of journals or edited volumes, news about conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures, etc, ii) Publications: Recently published books, book chapters, Nepal-specific journals, special issues of journals, and journal articles, working papers, occasional papers, published reports, bibliographies, etc, and iii) New research: Information about new social science research on Nepal, including recently completed PhDs.
Any individual or institution can send submissions for inclusion in the Newsletter along the prescribed guidelines given below. Submissions can be sent to newsletter@soscbaha.org.
Guidelines 1. Announcements and New Research A brief description limited to 100 words, and, where required, a URL link or email address of the contact person for those interested in learning more. 2. New Publications Book: Image and title of the book; author(s); publisher and year of publication; URL link to the publisher’s page featuring the book, where available. Edited volume: Title of chapter; author(s); title of the book; editors(s); publisher and year of publication; URL link to the publisher’s page featuring the book, where available. Journals (including special issues): Name of journal and title of special issue (if any); guest editor(s) (if any); volume and issue numbers, and date of publication; URL link to table of contents of the journals, where available. Journal articles: Title of article; author(s); name of journal; volume and issue numbers, and date of publication; URL link to the article, where available. Working papers, occasional papers, reports, etc: Title of publication; author(s); name of publishing institution and year of publication; and URL link to the publication, where available.
