Church Flowers

This week, the Church flowers have been kindly provided by Edith Pratt, in memory of Roger.

THANK YOU from Judith and Marjorie for birthday greetings, cards, flowers and gifts to help them to celebrate another year added to their ages. A special THANK YOU too for all the thoughts and prayers, Get Well wishes, offers of help, visits, loan of walking aids etc whilst Judith has been out of action.

We both appreciate and are very grateful for the help and support we receive from members of our Church family who have "gone the extra mile" for us in the last couple of months.

Grateful THANKS from the Church family to Edith Pratt who asked for donations of money instead of presents to celebrate her 90th Birthday on May 27th. This request has resulted in generous donations of £200.00 each to Wheatfields Hospice and Yeadon Methodist Church.

We know how much Edith enjoyed and appreciated celebrating becoming a nonagenarian, and Yeadon Methodist Church is grateful for allowing us to share in and benefit from her special birthday.

And Doreen Mott would like to say thank you for the Church flowers brought round by Joan Wilkinson on Sunday. It was very nice to see her and have a chat.

Local Arrangement Services: Two dates on the new plan have been put down as Local Arrangements. On the 29^th June Pauline Wright will lead our service and on the 20^th July we will be having a Songs of Praise.

If anyone would like of offer a favourite hymn and the reason why they have chosen it please let me know and I will try and fit them in.

BETA Bible Study Group

Our next meeting is on Tuesday 10^th June at 7.30pm in The Hardwick Hall or Gallery Room.

Sunshine & Showers

Cameron is leading a new course called Sunshine and Showers looking at the beauty and messiness of the Bible, The course will run for 4 weeks on Zoom on Thursdays: 5th, 12th & 19th June & 3rd July starting at 7.00pm lasting about an hour and a quarter.

To join the group contact Cameron on: thestirks@tiscali.co.uk and he will send you the Zoom link.

It is not too late to join in! Do support this new course.

Sessions include:

And finally … I was chatting to Viv & Wayne about their love of camping this week. They recalled that one time in the very early days they were amazed to find themselves on the same campsite as the singer-songwriter Cat Stevens (as he was called in those days).

In fact, Wayne was able to help him fix his caravan, as - apparently - his awning was broken.
