Triumph Gulf Coast votes to move $98M FSU project forward to support aerospace, manufacturing facilities in Bay County

The Triumph Gulf Coast Board voted last week to support a $98.4 million Florida State University project that would build aerospace and advanced manufacturing facilities in Panama City. The Institute for Strategic Partnerships, Innovation, Research, and Education (InSPIRE) will include operations within or near the Northwest Florida Beaches Airport and the adjacent Venture Crossings technology park. Read more ...

Florida State University’s College of Business inducted Christopher Iansiti, Russell Kohl, Kyle Riva and Nada Usina to its Alumni Hall of Fame last week. The new inductees increased the Alumni Hall of Fame membership to 66 since its creation in 2003. Read more ....

MagLab to analyze environmental impact of Maui wildfires

Scientists at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory will be analyzing soil and water samples from the site of the wildfires that devastated parts of Maui in early August, aiding an effort to examine how the fire impacted the chemistry of the soil and water and how that could affect the area’s larger ecosystem. Doctoral student receives Fulbright Fellowship to conduct research in Japan

Emily Lu, a doctoral candidate in the Department of History, will use the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program fellowship to support her dissertation research on the intersection of the arts and politics in imperial Japan during the wartime periods leading up to 1945.
