Student Emergency Funding Update
International Students are eligible for Spring 2022 Student Emergency Funding. Submissions are reviewed and disbursed twice a week. Students are encouraged to sign up for electronic funds transfer (EFT) for a faster disbursement. Processing started January 18, 2022.
As an international student, you are considered Non-Pell or Non-FAFSA. Therefore, you can be awarded up to $1000 for Fall/Spring term and $500 for summer term. Funding will go directly to the student via EFT or by check.
Student Emergency Funding is communicated to students as the COVID Impact, but in the system, it is identified as, “American Rescue Plan Student Grant or CRRSAA Funding” for accounting purposes.
Any student is eligible for funding to cover any college related expense (tuition, fees, books and supplies, housing, medical, transportation…) or COVID related expense.
All students must be enrolled in the term that support is requested.
A student can receive support once a term due to limited funding. This is different from last term but those who received funding in Fall 2021 were sent a communication sharing the change in eligibility prior to winter break.
Multiple communications started on January 18, 2022. Continuing this semester is the ability for students to apply using a QR code which are on fliers and posters distributed at campuses.
Looking for Housing? Check Out International Cooperative House
International Cooperative House (ICH) is always looking for ways to support and advocate for individuals in the Madison area community with diverse cultural backgrounds, as well as to promote respect and understanding for other cultures in a globalized world.
At this time, ICH has two furnished rooms (renewable/flexible leases), available immediately, and will have two more rooms opening in late January. This could be a good housing option for you as an incoming/current international student who is still looking for Madison housing during the upcoming semester.
The Black Women's Affinity Group of Madison College is pleased to host our first art exhibit titled "Honoring the Black Woman," which features 17 creators from Madison to Africa, as young as third grade.
