We need you to get involved at the Story Festival
We are planning a week of events from Monday 20th June and a number of special events during the summer break.
Your help and support will be the key to making this event go well.
Do you have a story to tell?
Are you passionate about supporting people, young & old to follow their dreams?
Would you like to be involved in the Story Festival?
I'd like to invite you to the first meeting of our working group Thursday 21st April 10am -12noon or simply drop me an email at jane@sparkscot.com
Spark aims to bring together those willing to share their stories to be the catalyst to that window of opportunities.
The stories may be written, spoken, sung or in film.
What they have in common is the thread of interest, a passion, a belief, and a willingness to navigate the challenges of the journey to achievement and fulfilment that the opportunity provides.
A story provides a world of opportunity!
There are books written to inspire children like Rosie Revere Engineer by Iggy Peck. A witty picture book about perusing your passion. Rosie may seem quiet during the day, but at night she’s a brilliant inventor of gizmos and gadgets who dreams of becoming a great engineer. Faced with a failure, her Great, Great Aunt Rose (Rosie the Riveter) inspires her not to quit. Reassured she returns to her engineering project and inspires her classmates to join the fun.
Rosie is practically a poster girl for positivity and empowerment and demonstrates how girls can excel in the STEM subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
There are young musicians like fiddler, Ryan Young, who played at Spark’s open, supported by Live Music Now, (founded by Yehudi Menuhin) who evidence that if music is your passion, it can be your career. He now plays at the world-famous Celtic Connections and releases his own music.
What is your story?
