This week has been sooooooo hectic for us! As you might have seen from our Instagram stories, we have been building our office and it looks like finally, all the pieces are coming together.

Anyway coming back, welcome to Dohful's Sunday Letter guys, I want to tell you about one of the most tricky questions we have ever come across.

A lot of the people we meet and tell about Dohful cookies to, ask us why we're not selling on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart and Big Basket, etc. 

Their reasoning is well-intentioned. These platforms have way more customers coming in on a daily basis than we could ever hope for. So it's easier to get discovered there.

While that is definitely true, there's something that has always bothered us about partnering with these platforms.

When you place an order with us currently the sequence of events is somewhat like this -

    -  You visit our website

    -  Place the order

    -  We bake your cookies after the order is received. So they're Fresh AF.

    -  The cookies are dispatched the same day as they are made.

    -  They reach you within 3-4 days of dispatch.

Now if we want to include any of the third-party platforms in this equation, we might see a bump in orders and sales and might be able to reach a lot many cookie lovers but there still is a big hiccup.

Will we be able to provide freshly baked cookies to everyone ordering through these platforms? 

Probably not. 

Because we will have to prepare and keep boxes of cookies in each of their warehouses so that they can ship them as and when the orders come.

That's why some of the people might be getting day-old cookies, some a week old, and a few others will probably receive even cookies made 2-3 weeks back. That's something that doesn't sit well with us.

We believe cookies should be freshly baked. 

And even though the cookies are good for 30 days, we dispatch them the same day of baking because we want you to get them as fresh as possible.

And we don't want to change this for the world!

Plus there are other things as well. Discounts and Pricing for example. 

You know we're not big on discounts. We want to keep the pricing standard and not vary it with every order you place. Even when we have chosen to give you a coupon code, you'd see that it doesn't exceed a certain limit. 

Because we know you guys would choose quality over discounts hands-down. Especially when you have already tried the cookies and love them. 

That's why we focus all our energies on giving you guys high quality, amazingly delicious, freshly baked cookies and hope to God that you come back for that.

We don't want to be the discount store that has to compromise on quality to stay afloat. But we might not get this choice if we tie-up with the Amazons & Flipkarts of the world.

And Last but definitely the most important thing - your personalized messages! 

So many of you guys want to personalize your gift boxes with a small message note or a photo. In fact, we received some really good reviews for our gifting personalizations. 

It makes us really happy when we're able to send your good wishes, love declarations, break up consolations, and much more along with the cookies, and we don't want this experience to ever change.

Maybe we're being too dramatic and sappy to think like this. But the truth is we never wanted to be a cookie company.

We were, are, and always will be a freshly baked cookie company and we don't want to change that ever. And we're okay selling a bit less to keep that intact.
