Life begins at 40
Hi ,
Hello, welcome to the August newsletter.
It has been great hearing from so many this month about people’s holidays and trips away. It certainly seems like most have been taking the opportunity to have an overseas break. School’s back for the kids over the next two weeks so I hope all goes well if you have children for their next academic year… I’m bracing myself for the “first day at school” pictures on social feeds.
Being a little self-indulgent here, it was my birthday this month and it was my 40th - a landmark birthday I’m told. 😊 I’ve had a great month catching up with friends and family back at home in Devon, lunches with the team including us doing Tough Mudder (pictured below) and finally a trip away with friends in Ibiza! Thank you to everyone who has shared well wishes and for sharing the moment with me.
In jobs news, this August, the UK’s jobs market showed signs of slowing down for the first time in two years. This is certainly something we have recognised here on the ground, however, we still have extremely committed clients within our niche with a great roster of roles. In actual fact, I would say the current market is becoming more balanced, with more candidates registering with us than we have seen in comparison to recent months which has been refreshing for our clients.
Some news that caught my eye this month is that NASA is going back to the moon! (Or did they go in the first place? 🤪). Only joking I’m certain they did land, or I’m sure any fabricated NASA moon landings or lack of legitimate landing sites would have been ‘outed’ by rival global space agencies/governments.
As ever, feel free to reach out regarding anything talent acquisition or DevOps related, it would be great to hear from you. Book a call with me here
Thanks,
Alex (DevOps) Dover
