Dear PRAR Member,

PRAR Board and Staff is working on your behalf. While we have had to cancel some Classes and Programs for health and safety reasons, we are still working hard for you! We are contacting the local government offices weekly regarding possible changes and advocating for REALTORS®. We hope if the times comes for a Shelter in Home, Real Estate will be considered essential services with all local municipalities.

Essential Services means you will continue to help clients in need. However, this will not mean business as normal.  As leaders in the Communities we live, we want to uphold the moral and ethical code. We must do our part to keep every safe. PRAR will continue to monitor the changes and will notify you as needed.

Please understand, we know you are getting overwhelmed with information overload at this time. PRAR does not want to contribute to over crowding of your email, so the best source of updates are from our Facebook and Website. Make sure you are keeping up to date with the daily brief from SCR and Nick Kremydas that we share on our Facebook Page.  As well as the Broker Updates and Webinars being offered from the state level. This is a lot great information that we share on our Facebook page that can help you and your business!

Congress Reaches Deal on $2 Trillion Stimulus Package

Lawmakers and the White House came to an agreement in the wee hours Wednesday morning on a nearly $2 trillion stimulus package intended to boost the economy and rush financial support to businesses and individuals during the COVID-19 outbreak. The package that leaders so far have agreed upon includes a direct, one-time payment of $1,200 to be sent to most adults. It also includes infusing $300 billion in relief toward small businesses, as well as a half-trillion-dollar fund to support companies that may be struggling from mass closures as the nation works to reduce the virus’ spread.

FEMA Extends Grace Period for Flood Insurance Renewals

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that it’s extending its grace period for homeowners to renew flood insurance policies to 120 days. Typically, FEMA allows a 30-day grace period to renew policies through the National Flood Insurance Program to help customers avoid a lapse in coverage. But FEMA’s unprecedented step to extend that period comes in response to the coronavirus pandemic. “The extension will allow additional time for policyholders who may be struggling financially to pay insurance premiums and ensure their policies are not canceled for nonpayment of premium due to circumstances beyond their control,” FEMA said in a statement.
