"Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:"
Luke 2:29 KJV
Perfect Peace!
Philippians 4:7 reads, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
In Acts 16 we learn that Paul and Silas had been beaten with rods and thrown in prison for preaching in the city of Philippi. Rather than complaining or being worried about whether they might receive justice, they were at peace and worshipping God with their feet fastened to stocks.
Our outside circumstances don’t determine our peace; it’s what’s happening inside. When we face difficulties and we’re connected to God, when we learn to pray with humility and thanksgiving, we can say with Paul, “I have some troubles, but I’m in peace. God is fighting this battle. I know He has the final say.”
That’s when we experience peace that passes understanding. Peace where we can sleep in the storm and through the battles. When we’re in peace, we’re showing God that we trust Him. That’s our faith at work. That’s what activates His power. We will see Him show out in our lives—supernatural healing, supernatural provision, supernatural breakthroughs.
To God Be The Glory for Peace that surpasses all understanding! Father, thank You that You, the all-powerful Creator of the universe, are with us, just as You were with Paul and Silas. In the difficult times, when we don’t know how a situation is going to turn out, help us to offer You a sacrifice of praise. We believe You will work out Your plan for us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Happy New Year!
