For the month of December, the Youth Ministry will continue our study of Joseph, another great character of the Bible. As stated last month, we will see how this man of God overcame obstacles to become great! We will study how he, the son of Jacob, exhibits trust and forgiveness, two important traits of a Christian, through his story told in the book of Genesis.

This is the 4th Bible character who the Youth have done an in-depth study of and each brings more and more enthusiasm and engagement and again, we are so proud of their commitment to learning God's Word and applying these teachings to their everyday life.

Thank you for all the love, support, and encouragement you have shown our Youth throughout this year! How blessed we are to have such a loving Church family as you and for that, we say THANK YOU!

We welcome all Youth to join us here at the Church every 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month at 7pm. We would love to have you and bring a friend!

Name: Carrie Lakeisha Lynn Clay

Current Focus: Credit building and financial stability

Career: I am a licensed cosmetologist and a licensed SRNA (state registered nursing assistant). My SRNA is what I use most now. It lets me bless families. As an in-home health care giver, companion, and/or homemaker, I help families in any way I can. I am there to give their seniors or youth the support they need.

Why this Career?: Both of these careers are my form of missionary work. They are my way of giving back. When doing these things people open up. People need someone to hear them, someone to listen, someone to let them “get it off their chest” – whatever that “it” is. Yes, it’s my job. Yes, I get paid. But I bring with me more than my credentials. I bring the love of Christ. GOD has given each of us our own light. HE’s given each of us our own way to twinkle. My twinkle makes my clients laugh. It motivates them to try one mo’gain. And, we know sometimes there’s more month than money and families can’t pay for help. That’s when GOD uses my heart to be a missionary the most. Yep, HE shows me how I can still make it even if I offer the family a lesser rate…or do it for free. JESUS paid it all. My “this one’s on me” let’s me tell them that GOD’s got them. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll believe! My missionary work!

What do you want your church family to know about you?: Ain’t no shame in my game. I’m just your down-to-earth person. I’m a bit private but always ready to laugh, always ready to share love. I walk with the LORD in the way HE leads my feet and hands to go! I mean that literally. You’ll understand more as my testimony continues to come to light. Know that I am a soldier. We have to be. Have to be about it for the children. Mamas keep going!

Now what does Mama like to do for fun. Some folks won’t tell you, but I will. GOD loves for HIS children to tell the truth. I like to go to the Red Mile. I do! Every now and then, I’m at the Red Mile and I speak to members of our church family who are there too! Being at the Red Mile don’t make me no less than nobody else! LOL We are all still Christians. We all look at our Christianity in all different ways. GOD gives us all different lights and we blink differently. We take HIS twinkle wherever we go.

I think GOD likes to laugh. You don’t have to be so serious. GOD is a serious GOD but everything ain’t got to be serious. Haven’t you ever said, Come on JESUS. You’ve got to be joking! LOL

Now I’ve told you a like. Now let me tell you a love. I love to sing! And I absolutely love to sing for the LORD! Some things make you feel a part of the church. Being able to do something in the church, well that means something extra special to you. For me, that’s the choir. Singing praises does something for my mind and my body.

I’m healing. You might see me leaning against the wall in the choir. I’m not being disrespectful. I’m at the height of my praise. GOD says, when you’ve done all you can do, STAND. That’s what I’m trying to do. My babies have seen Mama cooking in her wheelchair. But, GOD has let me stand. Let me walk. I’m praising HIM and they are too!

2025 has been a best year. Not because of what GOD has brought me through but because of what GOD brought my son to. My youngest took the chair! Mama’s youngest sweet is going to the water! Thank you, JESUS!

Is there anything special your church can do for you? Continue to pray for my healing. I had back surgeries. The doctor left particles in my spine. Took me from pain to paralysis. Two surgeries. Two bouts with paralysis. Too much to say here. The paralysis came with depression. Trying to get help then going from bad to worse, does something to your spirit! I had to turn it over. Had to remember, this battle is not yours, it’s the LORD’s. I’ve asked, GOD please just let me walk, just let me stand. And HE has. The doctors see me. Every time they say, How are you walking? I know how! You know how!

G-O-D! Pray for me. I have a new surgeon. My test say another surgery is coming. We’re putting it off as long as we can. That’s what the test say. I’m trusting. Listening for GOD. Pray for me. Our GOD gives miracles!

What do you want the church to know about GOD?: If you believe that HE will heal you, know that HE will. It won’t be on your time but it will be on HIS and it will come when HE decides as HE decides. If you don’t know, I’m trying to tell you!
