Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
In October 2023, USET SPF circulated a survey developed by the Tribal Self-Governance Advisory Committee (TSGAC) to gather information about how the Medicaid eligibility redetermination process is impacting Indian Country. Earlier this year, TSGAC published an executive summary with the findings, which largely indicated that the Medicaid unwinding process is not going smoothly in Indian Country.
As the Medicaid redeterminations continue, the TSGAC would like to collect further Tribal-specific anecdotal data on this process in order to share it with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). TSGAC requests that Tribal Nations and facilities fill out this survey with any updated information about their experiences with the Medicaid unwinding process. The updated information will assist the TSGAC in coordinating with self-governance Tribal Nations, identifying gaps in Medicaid disenrollments, and in sharing examples of models of best practices.
In addition, our member Tribal Nations are encouraged to reach out to USET SPF with any challenges or difficulties with state Medicaid offices or unwinding in general.
