Danielle J. Harrington

DJ Harrington Author of

The Diseased Ones

After meeting Danielle at the Southern California Writers' Conference, we've all been secretly hoping she'd come our way. We fell in love with her writing and her fun personality the moment we met her, and it feels like OUR dream come true that she's signed with Acorn Publishing.

Danielle Harrington is a high school chemistry teacher with a passion for the pen and a knack for storytelling. She got her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Biola University, and although she's a hardcore science nerd, she's always been a lover of the arts. She grew up acting and singing and has turned her love for drama into writing. Danielle lives vicariously through her characters and considers it great fun because she "gets to play all the parts". Danielle lives in LA with her husband and two cats, Moose and Turtle. She is working on a young adult dystopian fiction series, and she's beyond thrilled to join the Acorn family!

When attorney Cullen Molloy attends his fortieth high school reunion, he doesn’t expect to be defending childhood friends against charges of murder…

In a small town on the high plains of Eastern New Mexico, life and culture are shaped by the farm roads defining the 640-acre sections of land homesteaders claimed at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Cullen and Shelby Blaine explore first love along these section roads during the 1960’s, forging a life-long emotional bond.

As junior high school band nerds, Cullen and Shelby fall under the protection of football player and loner, Buddy Boyd. During their sophomore year of high school, Buddy is charged with killing a classmate and is confined to a youth correctional facility. When he returns to town facing the prospect of imprisonment as an adult, Cullen becomes Buddy’s protector.

The unsolved case haunts the three friends into adulthood, and it isn’t until their fortieth reunion, that they’re forced to revisit that horrible night. When a new killing takes place, Cullen, Shelby and Buddy find themselves reliving the nightmare.

Murder is an easy thing to hide on old country section roads.

Slapped with court ordered community service for brawling—again, Miller Cassidy, the Indianapolis Panther’s star player, is forced into laboring under stodgy non-profit supervisor, Kate Gallagher. Her saving grace — she happens to be best friends with Stella, the woman he’s been chasing for years.

Despite the masses falling for his charm, Kate doesn’t care for Miller’s notorious reputation or his flippant behavior. But wanting to impress her strict boss, she agrees to a trade that could give them both a shot at success.

Propelled into an unlikely alliance, Miller finds himself taking a defensive stance when he sees beyond Kate’s hard exterior. And Kate is equally thrown off guard when she discovers there’s more to Miller than games.

But is love worth sacrificing friendship? And can Miller let go of the feelings for Stella he’s held onto for years?

In love and basketball, it’s five fouls and you’re out, and every play counts.

Congrats to Acorn author, Mikel J. Wilson, on his recent book signing in Rome, Italy. OMICIDIO Sul LAGO Di FUOCO (Murder on the Lake of Fire) was translated and published through our Italian publishing partner, Dunwich Edizioni in February. Soon after the book was published, Dunwich arranged for a book signing in Rome. Thank you, Dunwich Edizioni! We are so proud and thrilled for Mikel and can't wait for the Italian release of book 2.
