🍄 Happy 920!

Don't know what 920 is? It's an international mushroom celebration day!

As a loving offer to you in celebration of this wondrous occasion, here is my talk from this summer on psilocybin and connection. Presented at the House Of Togetherness in London, England.

Over the past few years, it has become clear to me that my psilocybin experiences were helping me in many ways but that when it came to my intimate relationships, there was a still a lot of areas I needed to clean up and grow up.

Bringing my psilocybin learning into the realm of trauma healing and therapy, followed by learning about attachment theory and then into practice in my intimate relationships (especially with my current partner, Alysha) has offered me HUGE leaps and bounds in my quality of life, mental health, and sense of connection with others.

I share those learnings in lecture linked below!

Enjoy!

More in-depth life/work update

It's 920 today, which means it's September, which means that us here in the global north are watching summer turn to autumn.

Here in Ontario, that means the leaves begin to change and fall, often in a transformation from deep green and into gorgeous oranges, yellows, and reds. This has already begun around me, but I will not get to see too much of it.

I fly to Australia on the 12th of October for a small speaking tour over the course of two and a half weeks. It's a tight trip, especially given that I only arrived home from my month-long speaking tour in the UK on the 5th of September. But, I am SO EXCITED to be going back to Australia (tour details here). I am also excited that my flight home will come with a 2 week stop on the Westcoast of Canada, where a piece of my heart still remains. I will be there for the Spirit Plant Medicine Conference, this year as a speaker! (buy tix through this link and I will earn a small commission).

This has been a wild summer so far. Not just in the wonderous opportunities to speak (including FOXNEWS!) blending with the heavy workload of prepping multiple talks as well as podcasts to release while I am out of the office for long periods. Also, because there have been some tragic events unfolding in the larger psychedelic scene. If you have been following the show recently, you know I am talking about Tobias.

My colleague, friend, and alumni of the podcast committed suicide during a psychedelic-related psychotic episode. Somehow it landed upon me to report on this tragedy and all that surrounded it (some very complex and strange nuances). This took a heavy toll on me for a few weeks but lightened after that episode went out. That said, the repercussions of the event have traveled with me and out into the broader culture as well. Strange times.

It has been a big summer for me, and it is about to continue into the autumn. I will be easing into winter soon, with some fun new (secret) projects in the mix to pepper the space around the biweekly podcast releases.

ALSO, there have been many, many people signing up for the newsletter since the last one I released. If you are new here, welcome! Thank for actually opening and reading this. I look fondly to periodically inoculating your inbox with rad content.

Ok, that's all for me folks.

Thanks heaps for reading this to the end and for continuing to follow and support me on my journey in and through this (very) psychedelic life.

Hope to see you in Australia or Vancouver.

With care,

James
