A great opening day a few weeks ago gave us a taste of summer, and the committee has lined up an awesome range of events to enjoy in the months ahead.

Remember to register for the Prizegiving this Wednesday night at the Squadron (info below).

We'll see you on the water, or shore-side, somewhere soon.

We've been trying to run this interesting event for months, but you need no explanation as to why the postponements!

Tuesday 3 November at the RNZYS Squadron, 6.30pm.
Room will be signposted on the night.

‘A Waterway Life’, presented by Charles Scoones of PRINCESS fame.

We are delighted to be able to have Charles entertain us with his ‘show and tell’ tales of ‘A Waterway Life’

CYA Annual Prizegiving
Wednesday 21 October

21st October. 7pm for an 8pm start.  Dinghy Locker, Royal NZ Yacht Squadron

An awesome evening of camaraderie and presentation of trophies and awards. All members, crew, families & supporters are very welcome to attend.

Tickets are $25.00. Includes finger food and a cash/eftpos bar will be available.

You are all invited to an open afternoon at Brook’s Boatbuilders, to view the restoration of:

  • Fife Yacht, Impala
  • Refit of K class yacht, Katrina II
  • Restoration of Launch, Amakura II
  • The many other wooden boats at the yard – Matia, Ladye Wilma, Kotiri, Pilot Cutter, Kenya II

John Spencer - A Celebration of An Outstanding Designer

Friday 6th - Sunday 8th November, 10am -4pm

John Spencer was a brilliant NZ designer, an innovator and free thinker, outstanding craftsman and a champion of the amateur boat builder.

Be sure to visit the display highlighting his enormous contribution to New Zealand yacht design and construction at the Karanga Plaza, Halsey St, Wynyard Quarter.

Special thanks to the Tino Rawa Trust for yet another outstanding exhibition.


Invoices for the 2020-2021 Season 1 July – 30 June 2021 have been forwarded and we thank all those of you who have paid up. A statement will be sent shortly to all unpaid members.

Remember, for the 2020-21 Season the CYA Race Series skippers must be paid up CYA members (with the exception of the Townson Association and the Patio Bay Race)
