Greetings from the Tanner Family,
Praise God, we are back on the road again and have visited two churches since our last prayer letter a month ago. While this might not seem like a lot, it feels amazing to us. And as we have been traveling, we are noticing one common verse on many church signs, Psalm 122:1. "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD."
We consider ourselves to be very blessed to be on the road again, and able to visit churches. COVID-19 has been a challenge. That might be the understatement of the year, and it is true, but we have not been wasting our time. We drove to Missionary Acres in the middle of June and have been busy here ever since.
The staff is currently trying to complete a home remodel, and we have been doing our best to help them along. Bryan spent one of his first days diagnosing and repairing the HVAC system on the house. Once the AC was working again, he started helping the team with painting on the main floor. He has also completed some drywall work and is working on painting downstairs.
Bryan also needed to complete some electrical work in the attic. He and Lisa headed over to the house one night, to work when it was cooler. Well, cooler is a relative term. We estimate it was still well over 100 degrees in the attic at almost midnight when we finished.
During the past month, we also helped set up for the Missionary Acres yard sale. Typically, the yard sale takes place in the spring and fall. However, with all the restrictions in the spring, that sale couldn't happen. July in Missouri is hot and humid, so the set up process required many breaks. But, praise God, the yard sale was a success.
As mentioned earlier, we have completed two meetings over the past month. One was in Pleasant Hope, MO, and the other in Bunker Hill, IL. It is always such a blessing for us to go and meet fellow believers and worship God together. What a joy it will be when we all gather together in Heaven for the ultimate fellowship time.
The children had a lot of fun while at Bunker Hill. Between services on Sunday, we were invited to a home where they got to ride horses and play on a zip line. It was a definite blessing for all of us.
This month we did have to go to the emergency room with Owen. We started at a nearby hospital, and got transferred to the Children's Hospital in Saint Louis. Although we do not enjoy going to the hospital, it was nice to learn more about the care available in this area. The ER staff took good care of Owen. You can read more about our ER trip on our blog, you can find the link below.
We will end July with a Wednesday night meeting in Westwood, Kansas. This will be followed by our first August meeting in Smithville, Missouri. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to travel.
We are planning on staying at Missionary Acres through the end of August. Then we will travel to a missions conference in Kansas on our way home to Washington. Then Lord willing, we will be loading up the camper and heading out for a busy month of meetings. We will be in Montana for most of September and part of October.
Thank you for your prayers, they are greatly appreciated.
