On 1^st April, Ancho tenants transferred over to Cairn following a successful tenant vote. This exciting new chapter was marked with a ribbon-cutting event, bringing together new tenants, shareholding members, and former Board members.

Here’s what you told us you want:

• To be involved earlier in decisions, not just at the end.
• Real conversations, not just forms or formal meetings.
• Clear and simple ways to get involved.
• Support to take part, like help with transport, digital access, or one-to-one chats.
• To see what changes as a result of your feedback.

We’re now using that feedback to co-design a new strategy. It will include:

• Clear principles for how we work with tenants.
• A variety of ways to get involved, depending on what works for you.
• More face-to-face contact and stronger links in local communities.
• A step-by-step approach, starting with what’s most important to tenants.
• Regular updates showing how your voice is making a difference.

We’re aiming to finalise the strategy over the summer and launch it in the autumn.

Our Welfare Benefits team do amazing work for our tenants every day.

In May they helped 39 tenants gain over £55,000 in additional income, which will make a considerable difference to their lives.

We’re trialling a new appointment-based system for tenants visiting our Thurso office.

Until now, tenants have been able to drop in on Mondays and Thursdays. However, staff are often out on home visits during these times, which means they’re not always available when you come in. With the new system, you can make an appointment to see a staff member on any weekday — and you’ll know they’ll be there when you arrive.

We’ll review how this is working in three months and will ask for your feedback before making any permanent changes.

We were named winner of the Customer Service Star Award at the SHARE Awards in Glasgow recently. The award recognises the exceptional efforts of our customer services and welfare benefits teams, who have gone above and beyond for our tenants. From securing vital funding for fuel support and emergency aid, to supporting tenants in financial crisis, the teams’ work has made a lasting impact in our communities.

We know that managing your energy bills can be worrying and, at times, confusing. The service aims to help you stay affordably warm at home and includes:

• Access to their online advice library
• Regular emails or letters over the coming months around energy advice
• Access to telephone advice for more in-depth support
• Tailored one-to-one support if you have more complicated problems such as energy billing issues or debt

If you would like help or advice, you can self-refer by:

• Calling 0800 870 8800, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

The RTS switch off date is very close, with the service being switched off on 30^th June. If affected, you may lose heating and hot water if you don’t act.

Tenants at our courts have been keeping busy! Devlin Court have been getting green fingered, sprucing up their garden. The fire service have been in giving fire safety advice to residents. Tenants at Lochbrae Court had a delicious Easter lunch. And a local school visited Cluny Court to play bingo with residents!

After serving the tenants at Lochbrae Court since 1995, Pat McGarry has decided to hang up his hammer.

Pat started as a handyman on 7^th May 1995 and decided to retire on 7^th May 2025, exactly 30 years to the day after he started. There was a great turnout of staff and tenants to bid Pat farewell.

He is a huge loss to the tenants and staff at Lochbrae Court, but as a keen fisherman, we’re sure he’ll have plenty to do during his retirement!

Mental Health Awareness Week just wrapped up, and it highlighted how getting involved in your local community can significantly boost our wellbeing. It helps us to belong, feel supported and have purpose. Here are some ways you could get involved…
