"Guns + America" is a powerful and provocative look at the relationship between guns and America. Corwin's photographs, taken over the course of many years, offer a unique perspective on this complex issue. Corwin presents us with a mind-reeling montage of imagery which reverberates throughout the American political and historical spectrum. Whether his color plates of the titular subject, or his astoundingly emotive black and white American landscapes, Corwin weaves a tapestry of uniquely American scenes which cut to the core of the issues at hand. Depending on the viewer’s choice of perspective, the interpretations of these images will differ radically.
Corwin's photographs are both beautiful and disturbing. They are a reminder of the power of guns, and the potential for violence that they represent. But they are also a reminder of the importance of gun ownership in American culture.
"Guns + America" is a must-see for anyone who wants to understand the complex relationship between guns and America. It is a book that will challenge your assumptions and make you think about this issue in a new way.
