Hello Friend,

Pickles are kind of a thing in my family. My mom passed down her love for them to me, and my oldest son is similarly obsessed (same for Hot Fries, but this isn't actually about snacks).

We love all kinds of pickles (except my mother is a crazy person who hates garlic, so no garlic ones for her) but the consensus is that the best ones were Grammie Trafton's sour pickles. She's the one Everly's Grammie Dupree is based on, and trust me, you would have loved her. She wouldn't have given you an accurate version of her pickle recipe, but don't feel bad - she didn't give one to us, either!

I'll drink pickle juice straight out of the jar. I still recall the scent of a scratch 'n sniff pickle sticker I had on my notebook in 3rd grade. I named my dog named Pickles, for crying out loud.

So how did I not know that pickle Christmas ornaments were a thing until last year?
