Did another week just race by or was that my imagination? Must be true because we meet again!

Larry and his wife paid a visit to Yellow Creek this week to see what camping opportunities might be available. How about a lakeside camping cottage where you can launch your kayak from your "front yard?" Says Larry, "Can’t wait to sit at the bonfire gazing out over the lake after a day of kayaking/hiking the trails!" #PPFFReflections

Some "save the dates" to watch: The annual awards and "banquet" are making their return! Those quotation marks are not quite so errant as they may seem since the plan is to enjoy a quite casual approach to the celebration this year. Instead of a formal banquet with a sit-down dinner and PowerPoint, we'll be inviting our winners and friends to join us at Little Buffalo State Park on May 16th. Details will certainly be shared as plans develop (thank, Megan) but do note that May 14-21 is this year's I Love My State Parks Week.

Save the Date part 2 is a note that PA Healthy Lands Week will be coming back in September as well. I know. September seems a long way away but you know how it goes!

Correct, dear readers! Last week's potential national park pictured was Ricketts Glen. The Depression and World War II sunk the idea, although the Glens Natural Area is a National Natural Landmark. 

Got Netflix? The new film, "The Pale Blue Eye," has had its debut there. If you've seen it, the name one of the state parks where filming took place.
