Dear Forsyth Community,

On behalf of the Search Committee, I am writing to provide an update on the exciting progress in the search for our next Head of School and ask for your cooperation in the coming weeks.

The Search Committee worked closely with The Education Group in September and October to solicit feedback from the Forsyth community through multiple meetings with parents, faculty, staff, and the administration to identify priorities and develop a position statement. On Tuesday, October 6, we posted the official position profile for our next Head of School, which can also be found on the Head Search webpage on Forsyth's website.

Over the past few weeks, we received dozens of responses from qualified potential candidates. We are very encouraged by both the volume and quality of applicants who expressed interest in the position. Although we will continue to solicit applications through this Friday, November 6, we have already started the candidate screening interviews and are excited about Forsyth’s prospects. Given the timing of our search—which started later in the cycle than other schools seeking a new Head before the beginning of the 2021/22 school year—and the unique circumstances of this year, we are intentionally moving as nimbly and quickly as possible to advance these discussions toward our goal of having a new Head of School in place for the 2021/22 school year.

Over the next two weeks, we hope to bring multiple candidates to campus for final-round interviews and meetings with various community members, including parents, faculty, staff, and the administration. These meetings are your opportunity to participate in this process. Input from across our community is essential to the selection of our next Head of School, and we ask for your honest engagement and feedback. Dates and times for these meetings have not yet been finalized, but we hope to have more information for you soon. Furthermore, the candidates' identities are confidential until they have had the opportunity to make the necessary arrangements. We anticipate that these meetings could begin as soon as later this week or early next week. Please watch for updates, invitations, and background information regarding the candidates in the coming days.
