Grand Opening of the 5th General Assembly of the DCO
Senior officials from 16 member countries attended the fifth General Assembly of the Digital Cooperation Organisation (DCO) in Kuwait. Pakistan, represented by Federal Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, formally assumed the 2026–2027 DCO presidency. P@SHA Secretary General Ali Hasani also attended, highlighting Pakistan’s growing leadership in innovation and technology-driven development.
During its tenure, Pakistan will focus on digital education, cybersecurity, AI, online safety, and equal access to technology, ensuring digital progress benefits youth, women, and all member countries. The minister also announced that Pakistan will host next year’s DCO General Assembly, showcasing achievements under the Digital Nation Pakistan vision.

P@SHA at Indus AI Week 2026
P@SHA leadership, including Chairman Sajjad Syed, Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam, Vice Chairman Raheel Iqbal, Treasurer Haris Naseer, and CEC Members Abdul Wahab (Chair of Industry Engagement), Sheikh Abdul Qadir, Nadia Iqbal, Usman Akbar, along with Secretary General Ali Hasani and the P@SHA Secretariat, actively participated in the opening day of the event.

FPCCI Conference on Economic Growth and Stability
P@SHA was invited to the Conference on Economic Growth & Stability organized by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI). Chairman P@SHA, Mr. Sajjad Syed attended the conference where he highlighted key challenges facing Pakistan’s IT industry and presented policy and budgetary recommendations to support export growth and sectoral stability. His remarks focused on addressing structural bottlenecks, ensuring regulatory consistency, and creating a conducive fiscal framework to strengthen the IT sector’s contribution to national economic growth.

On 13th January 2025, a productive meeting was held in Islamabad, bringing together representatives from Apple, P@SHA, and industry leaders. The session focused on exploring opportunities around Apple initiatives, strengthening collaboration, and discussing how global technology programs can create new pathways for skills development in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by P@SHA CEC members Sajjad Syed, Dr. Sonia Saleem, Salman Dar, Mohammad Munaf, Sheikh Abdul Qadir, and Hassan Bin Rizwan, along with SG Ali Hasani. P@SHA, represented by Mohammad Munaf (CEC Member & Co-Chair Industry Engagement), participated in a meeting at the Sindh Secretariat on January 7, 2026, chaired by Muhammad Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the CM Sindh on Science & IT. Discussions focused on resolving compliance challenges for IT companies, promoting “Make in Pakistan” in government IT procurement, and improving industry facilitation. The session concluded with the announcement of a Sindh IT Facilitation Desk and plans for joint industry-academia capacity-building initiatives.

On 20th February 2026, P@SHA hosted an in-person Masterclass on “Building a Predictable Revenue Engine for Tech Services Companies,” in Lahore. The session was organized by Syeda Safa Hassany, Skills Development Associate at P@SHA, and was led by Vic Ahmed, a tech entrepreneur and startup expert, who shared practical strategies to help tech leaders build predictable revenue streams and scale effectively. The Masterclass also featured insights from Amir Zahur Khan, Senior Trainer at Exelon, who added soft skills and leadership qualities perspective to the mix. The next masterclass will be announced soon.

Centralized Skills Competency Test to assess Graduates by HEC/MOITT and P@SHA
P@SHA is working closely with HEC and MOITT to plan and conduct the centralized test with the aim to create a standard to measure the quality of graduates creating avenues of equal opportunity and aligning the supply with the industrial demand. P@SHA has so far helped the ministry and HEC to identify competencies for assessment, recommend the composition of the test and review the question bank. The test is expected to be launched in the first week of April 2026 for all students enrolled in 7th and 8th Semesters in the field of computing.

URAAN AI Techathon 1.0 | Islamabad
On 10th February, CEC Member Sheikh Abdul Qadir played a pivotal role in the Final Competition of URAAN AI Techathon 1.0 held in Islamabad under the leadership of Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives.
As the Industry Partner, P@SHA led the judging process, with Sheikh Abdul Qadir spearheading the evaluation of innovative AI solutions and ensuring fair recognition of emerging talent during Indus AI Week. His expertise and active involvement contributed to the identification of Pakistan’s next-generation AI innovators.
The initiative was organized by the Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, with support from the Ministry of IT & Telecommunications (MoITT) and Ignite.
