People in the Pews
Since this is planned as a monthly feature in Memorial Happenings, to set the example, here is a bit about me.
Anxious to come into the world, I was born two months premature, resulting in my blindness as an infant. Since I grew up without sight, being blind is as normal for me as seeing is for you. I do the same things most people do, but sometimes in different ways. Because I’m very comfortable with being blind, if you have specific questions concerning blindness, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I consider Nashville home, as I’ve lived here more than anywhere else. Retired from teaching, most of my students being adults who were blind/visually impaired, I still teach on occasion and am active with nonprofit organizations. My husband of ten years and I enjoy living in east Nashville and share our love and home with four very active, wonderful, small dogs and three awesome cats! I’m also the proud stepmom to two grown daughters.
