Dear GNN faithful,
This time a horrendous storm struck the Banke area of Nepal, where our training center is located.
Pastor Philip was on the third floor of the building and noticed a big storm coming from the northwest!! The third floor of our center was under construction and was struck by 75 mph winds and rain. Thankfully Philip warned the students that were there that the storm was about to hit. Big sheets of metal roofing were blown off the half finished roof, whirling through the property. Iron rods were sent flying and punctured a second floor window, the roof and other spots. Thankfully no one was hurt as they had taken shelter on the first floor! But the wife of our training center principal had just taken off her sandals to seek shelter inside when an iron rod blew right through her sandal on the entrance floor!! What a close call, but she was inside, protected by Almighty God!
In the end there was about $10,000 in damages and the roof has to be rebuilt. But thanks to our “look-out”, Pastor Philip, all are safe. The students graduated the next week without any problems! They will go out to reach the unreached with the good news of the Gospel.
