Route Safety
The undulating route includes woodlands, meadows, river paths, and quiet country lanes.
Notable hazards on route include low branches, fallen trees, deep set badger holes, road crossings, uneven terrain and cattle.
Depending on the farmers plans from now until race day, you may encounter ploughed fields, again just take it easy on these sections.
Please take extra care as you leave Clare Castle Country Park as the footpath arrives at a busy road with little warning.
There is a stretch between Baythorne and Clare where you may encounter cattle. Please take a moment to read the following advice on how best to approach and pass cattle. https://www.ramblers.org.uk/advice/safety/walking-near-livestock.aspx
