P@SHA Showcases Pakistan's Tech Ecosystem at London Tech Week 2026

P@SHA proudly represented Pakistan's technology ecosystem at London Tech Week 2026 (8–12 June) through a high-level delegation led by CEC Member Usman Akbar and Kheezran Khan, Director Brand & Global Outreach. Accompanying the delegation were 21 leading Pakistani technology companies, showcasing the country's innovation, digital capabilities, and export potential on one of the world's premier technology platforms.

Throughout the week, the delegation engaged with government officials, industry leaders, investors, and global technology stakeholders to strengthen international partnerships and promote Pakistan as an emerging global technology hub. Key engagements included a meeting with Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor of London, discussions with the Pakistan Britain Business Council, participation in the B2B Opportunities, Investment & Trade Roundtable, and a visit to the Embassy of Indonesia to explore new avenues for collaboration.

The participating companies actively showcased their innovative solutions, connected with international buyers and partners, and explored opportunities for trade, investment, and market expansion through exhibitions, networking sessions, and B2B engagements.

P@SHA also co-hosted an exclusive networking dinner with the Pakistan Tech Forum (PTF) and the UK Pakistan Business Council (UKPBC), bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, and technology professionals from Pakistan and the UK to foster meaningful business connections.

London Tech Week 2026 marked another significant milestone in P@SHA's mission to elevate Pakistan's global technology footprint, strengthen cross-border collaborations, and create new opportunities for the country's rapidly growing digital economy.

P@SHA at the launch of Tech Her Forward an initiative by Stewart Pakistan in collaboration with Alight Pakistan

On 23rd June, Dr. Sonia Saleem (P@SHA CEC Member & Diversity and Inclusion Committee Chair) and Ali Hasani (Secretary General, P@SHA) attended the launch of Tech Her Forward, an initiative by Stewart Pakistan in collaboration with Alight Pakistan, at the Zaha Hadid Skills Center, Capital Smart City, Islamabad. The event was graced by Her Excellency Ms. Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim at the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan, as the Chief Guest.

During the event, Dr. Sonia Saleem highlighted the importance of digital skills, women’s inclusion, and cross-sector collaboration. The initiative aims to equip young women from underserved communities with in-demand digital and IT skills, enabling greater participation in Pakistan’s growing digital economy.

On 9th June, P@SHA signed an MoU with the British Council under the Team Europe’s TVET Sector Support Programme to strengthen future skills and employment pathways in Pakistan’s tech sector.

The MoU was signed by Ali Hasani (Secretary General, P@SHA) and James Hampson (Country Director Pakistan, British Council), in the presence of Raheel Iqbal (Vice Chairman, P@SHA), CEC Members Dr. Sonia Saleem, Salman Dar, and Syeda Safa Hasany (Skills Development Associate, P@SHA).

During the ceremony, Raheel Iqbal emphasized the strong industry-global partnerships in improving employability and supporting the growth of Pakistan’s digital economy.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building a more skilled and future-ready digital workforce for Pakistan.

On 18th June, P@SHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahria University, marking an important step towards strengthening collaboration between academia and Pakistan’s technology industry.

The MoU was signed by Ali Hasani (Secretary General, P@SHA) and Vice Admiral Abid Hameed (Rector, Bahria University), in the presence of Dr. Sonia Saleem (CEC Member, P@SHA) and Syeda Safa Hasany (Skills Development Associate, P@SHA).

During the ceremony, Dr. Sonia Saleem emphasized stronger industry-academia collaboration to bridge skills gaps and enhance employability for students in the technology sector.

As a gesture of appreciation, a commemorative shield was presented to Dr. Sonia Saleem by Vice Admiral Abid Hameed.

On 19th June, P@SHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Technology Council (NTC), hosted by Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS), Lahore, marking an important step towards strengthening collaboration between industry, academia, and government institutions.

The MoU was signed by Sajjad Syed (Chairman, P@SHA) and Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Moazzam Ejaz (Chairman, National Technology Council), in the presence of Raheel Iqbal (Vice Chairman, P@SHA), whose efforts played an instrumental role in advancing this collaboration, along with Munawar Ahmad (Chairman, ICBS) and distinguished representatives from academia and industry.

The partnership aims to bridge the gap between the IT industry, higher education institutions, and government stakeholders while creating stronger pathways for talent development and professional recognition in emerging technology fields.

Meeting with SIFC on IT Industry Issues

On June 10, 2026, Chairman P@SHA Mr. Sajjad Syed, Senior Vice Chairman, Mr. Umair Nizam and CEC Member Mr. Salman Dar met with representatives of the SIFC to discuss key policy issues affecting Pakistan's IT industry. P@SHA highlighted concerns regarding the taxation of remote workers, the need for policy continuity, investment in quality education to strengthen the technology workforce, the implications of the Punjab Labour Law and the draft Sindh Labour Law for the IT industry. The recommendations were positively received, with the SIFC expressing its commitment to further review the issues raised.

Meeting with JICA on Pakistan–Japan ICT Collaboration Meeting

On June 17, 2026, P@SHA was represented by Director Policy Ms. Kashoon Leeza and Policy Lead Mr. Gulraiz Iqbal at a meeting convened by PSEB with JICA representatives and Japanese delegates to strengthen Pakistan–Japan ICT collaboration. JICA and PSEB provided briefing on the JICA project including long-term cooperation mechanism, and strengthening business matchmaking, market research, and industry engagement between Pakistan and Japan.

Meeting with FPCCI on the Anomalies in the Federal Budget 2026-27

On June 18, 2026, Chairman P@SHA Mr. Sajjad Syed, Director Policy Ms. Kashoon Leeza, and Policy Lead Mr. Gulraiz Iqbal attended a meeting with FPCCI representatives to discuss the anomalies in the recently announced federal budget 2026-27 affecting Pakistan's IT industry. These anomalies highlighted a mix of unmet sectoral demands and textual inconsistencies within the budget's provisions. P@SHA presented a series of fiscal and tax policy recommendations aimed at improving the competitiveness of the IT sector, fostering investment, supporting startups, and addressing key taxation challenges faced by IT companies and exporters. The meeting reinforced the importance of a stable and competitive fiscal framework to support the sector's continued growth.

On 9th June, the P@SHA Vice Chairman Raheel Iqbal had a productive meeting with Faisal Jeddy (CEO, Pakistan Software Export Board), along with Dr. Henna Karamat Durrani and Syeda Safa Hasany (Skills Development Associate, P@SHA), to discuss ongoing collaboration and skills development initiatives for Pakistan’s IT sector.
