Tips for Hosting a LIVE online art sale
It's hard work trying to sell art, especially if you have to price it, pack it up, show up for the event and then break it all down to take home. One thing I do every year, is have a LIVE annual art sale on a private Facebook page. Here's a few tips on how to make it successful.
1) Advertise the sale dates and times in advance by email your customers and promoting on social media.
2) Set up a private Facebook group and ask customers to join. Showcase items with group prior to sale to build excitement.
3) Ask participants to pre-register on your selling platform prior to the event to make billing and shipping flow smoothly.
4) Type up detailed rules in the FB group for how to bid on or purchase the artwork, as well as rules for purchase and payment time frames.
5) Label all items by number and tape securely to front or back of art.
6) Have a hands free stand for your phone or camera so you can appear live easily and showcase and describe the artwork.
7) Have a helper to watch for comments and sales during the event.
Have you ever done a LIVE sale? I'd love to hear your questions or experiences!
